The building housing Harborside Inn was designed as a mercantile structure by Gridley James Fox Bryant - a famous 19th century architect and builder whose projects included Boston's old City Hall. Renovated as a hotel in 1997, features of the original construction were preserved and highlighted as a reminder of its historic past. These historic details are combined with comfortable furnishings such as authentic oriental rugs and sleigh beds in every room. Driving I-90 east coming into the city take exit 24b to 93 north. From 93 north, take the first exit - exit 23 - for Government Center. When coming off the exit stay to the left. Turn left onto Atlantic Avenue. Continue through 2 sets of lights and take a right onto State Street and Harborside Inn is on the left.
South
Take Rte. 95 north -from RI-/RTE. 93 north -from Cape Cod- to Rte 93 north get off 93 north at exit 23-Government Center. Follow the signs for the New England Aquarium Waterfront-stay to the left. Merge onto Atlantic Avenue. Turn right onto State Street. Harborside Inn is the first building on the left.
