Property Description
Porto Palacio Hotel is located in the heart of the business district of the city, with easy access to the A1 highway, 15 minutes away from Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport, 500m from Casa da Musica and subway station and 1km from the Modern Art Museum. The hotel has 251 rooms, divided in 10 Executive floors and 3 Deluxe floors (the 3 top floors), with a total of 192 Executive rooms, 42 Deluxe Rooms and 18 Suites, of which 12 executive, 3 deluxe, 2 superior deluxe and 1 Grand Palacio Suite. All rooms renewed in 2006, are comfortably equipped and adjustable to fulfill the requirements of each guest: air conditioning, mini-bar, free digital safe deposit box, radio, Plasma TV screen with 52 channels of cable TV and Pay TV, telephone links for faxes and PC (analogic and digital) free and unlimited access to Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi). There are 9 Non-smoking floors in a total of 151 rooms, and 2 rooms for the disabled. The hotel has a fully equipped business centre in the lobby with fax, photocopier, PC, Internet and printer. Our new congress and events centre features a multipurpose room for 600 persons equipped with state of the art audio visual equipment and independent entrance from the Hotel. All together in our 12 meeting rooms we can host events form 8 to 600. Our excellent in-house health and fitness club with 3,200 sqm is home to all the latest gym equipment for body building activities or cardio fitness regimes, great for a pre or post meeting work out or just catching up from the jetlag. For something a little less strenuous, there is also a Jacuzzi sauna, Turkish bath and a all wide range of health and beauty treatments. Dining at the hotel is an experience of a life time. Our Executive Chef (who is also the official chef for the Portuguese football team) has received several awards for his regional and international cuisine. Guests are encouraged to taste some of the local gastronomy. For light meals and informal meetings the Nautilus Bar offers bar snacks, and plays live music in the evenings. Future projects include a Spa by L'Occitaine, a Panoramic Lounge and the new Gourmet Restaurant "Le Coin". |

Directions
Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport
Take IC 1 to Boavista square and from there make the first right. The hotel will be a few blocks down on your left hand side.
From North
Take the A3 in the direction of Porto/Boavista. Take the Boavista/Foz Exit and go up Av. Boavista. The hotel is about 800 meters on the right.
From South
Take highway A1, after crossing the Arrabida bridge take the 1st exit "Bessa Leite" continue straight ahead and at the first traffic light make a right and the hotel will be on the right hand side.

The Serralves Musean of Contemporary Art
The Museum's core objectives are the constitution of a representative collection of Portuguese and international contemporary art; presentation of a programme of temporary, collective and individual exhibitions reflecting a dialogue between the national and international artistic contexts; and organization of pedagogical programmes that widen public interest in contemporary art and encourage stronger ties with the local community. The Museum also aims to develop projects with young artists that enable them to affirm their works and further their artistic enquiries. The Museum's Collection is constituted by direct acquisitions, works deposited by the State and private collectors and donations. A plan of the architect Siza Vieira, the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art is the first project of its kind in Portugal and the largest cultural centre to be built in the region. Unique in its architectural simplicity and its natural setting, the museum is the cornerstone of Serralves Foundation's mission to increase the public interest in contemporary art and environment.
Casa da Musica
Casa da Musica is a major concert hall space in Porto. It was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, and was built as part of Porto's project for European Culture Capital in 2001.
